CitSci Work Space

Friday, November 22, 2019 - 2:15pm to 3:00pm

Session Description

Have a problem you're trying to solve with your citizen science project? Looking to improve the way you're doing things? Getting started with a new project and want a place to bounce ideas? The CitSci Work Space will be a spot to help sort through it all. Bring your project, problem, ideas, and more. This is a chance for peer discussion to help brainstorm solutions for citizen science projects. There will be four rooms, each with an assigned question to work on answering. You are free to change rooms throughout the time period as you see fit during this time slot. We'll seed each room with someone with experience from the topic area to get the conversation going and/or moderate as needed.

Here are the focus questions for each of the rooms:

How do I get and keep the best volunteers?
Room assignment: Drovers 2

Should I start a citizen science project?
Room assignment: Union Conference Room

How do I know if my volunteers' data is good enough?
Room assignment: Dovers 1

How should I communicate the results of my work?
