City Nature Challenge was a GREAT success! We had more observers than last year, more identifiers, and A LOT more species (815!) reported in the 11-county metro area. This is all despite having no organized activities or host partners as we have in other years. The most commonly observed species were mallard duck, bloodroot, American robin, and Canada goose. Additionally, 57% of our observations made it to research grade (positively identified to species with reliable location). We are happy to see so many people getting outside to safely #NatureInPlace and look forward to next year's event.
